Description

NGC 4725 is the brightest member of the Coma group of galaxies, about 40 million light years distant.  It is an  intermediate barred-spiral galaxy in the constellation Coma Berenices.  Its smaller companion galaxy, ARP 149 (or NGC 4747) is an unusual galaxy with long tails likely due to gravitational interactions with other nearby galaxies.
