Description

The weather has not been great lately and then when it's not rainy, there smoke from forest fires.  Now the moon is out so no DSO imaging.  But there a fix for this!  Image the moon!  I captured the full moon using my RASA 8" telescope and the QHY5III715C camera.  Yes I know part of it is cut off because the FOV was just a little bit too small but the details I captured are amazing!  I captured 1032 frames at 40 millisecond each!  I only used SharpCap to capture, then PixInsight to align via the FFT Registration script then a Image Integration of all frames using generalized extreme studentized deviate for pixel rejection.  Then I flipped (RASA thing) then color corrected, deconvolution, a little bit of unsharp mask, HDRMultiscaleTransform, used a range mask to get rid of some over exposed, over saturated areas, the finally a nice generalized hyperbolic stretch to increase saturation and bring out detail.  Maybe I will image the moon again but next time with the QHY183C :-)

Clear Skies!
Dave
