Description

The Cygnus's Laces is a remnant of a supernova whose explosion dates back ten thousand years. They are located in the constellation Cygnus. The standardized name for this slash is SNR G074.0-08.6, which is sometimes also referred to as Cygnus Loop.

La big lace, the brightest part, is in the northeast region. It has the shape of a comma composed of very fine filaments extending over 1.2 ° along a NW-SE axis for a width of the order of ten minutes of arc. It was listed by John Dreyer under the designations NGC 6992 (slender part of the north-west), NGC 6995 (re-branching to the south-east) and IC 1340 (smaller extensions of this re-branching).
