Description

The Eye of Sauron or the Eye of God as it is referred to sometimes. Regardless, this is a nice big and fairly bright planetary nebula at a cozy distance of ~655ly from us. Only downside is its location in the sky at almost -21deg DEC from my 42N location. So this rides pretty low and it took a few nights since I have to wait for it to clear my chimney before I can image it.

I processed this as a traditional narrowband HOO palette in PI. I do have RGB data for the stars, but I am for some reason struggling to get those in place of the NB stars.

Still happy with how this turned out, even with not a ton of total integration time. Working at f/4 and with a 12" helps
