Description

The Angel Nebula has always been a bit of a holy grail object for me in the winter skies. This has been my bigger project this winter so far, and even having moved to a new location and relatively dark bortle 4 skies, this was a really tough, faint target. That combined with some really uncooperative atmospheric seeing and weather conditions has made it tough to get good non full moon nights to add data.

And the worst part.... THE AIRPLANES!!! I think this has intersected a direct main flight path on the east coast, because I have never had so many airplanes fly through one object to the point of actually having to exclude some because even sigma clipping couldn't get all of the trails out. Modern era imaging problems..... :-)
