M16 - The Eagle Nebula in Foraxx

M16 - The Eagle Nebula processed in the Foraxx palette. I had a lot of fun in post-processing. I was lucky to have a solid stretch of 6 or so days without clouds leading going into the new moon. The core was blown out in my Ha and Sii channels so I utilized masked stretching (used the handy GAME utility) with GHS to slightly stretch the "Pillars" to my liking then focus on the surrounding nebulosity. Typical workflow: Star Align all three channels including RGB stars, Dynamic Crop, Linear Fit, StarX, GHS to stretch then recombine using the Foraxx Utility created by Paulyman Astro. Color masking to make color and saturation adjustments. Selective masking for LHE and MLT. Final brightness adjustment then recombine with RGB stars.

RGB stars were combined, run through BlurX then StarX discarding RGB image. GHS stretch to personal liking. SCNR and correct magenta stars to correct color.

I will also upload a close up shot of the Pillars of Creation with several palette combinations as this data lent well to experimentation.

Title: M16 - The Eagle Nebula in Natural Color

Description: I learned about how to get "natural" RGB color from narrowband data via Paulyman Astro's youtube channel. Essentially the colors are determined mathematically (in pixelmath) of what Hydrogen, Sulfur and Oxygen would look like say in a science lab. The script may not work well with some DSO's but on the Eagle I felt it shined. The non-linear channels were combined via pixelmath with some slight curve adjustments; mainly saturation.
