Description

This is my farewell to Comet Neowise. I failed to capture the best of it during it's pomp, in part due to operator error, but also due to me travelling, then being clouded out.

This is also my first successful outing with my new Star Adventurer mount, having messed up the camera settings on my previous attempt at the comet, when it was much brighter :-(.

As can be seen Neowise was passing close to the Coma Cluster Mel 111, which I thought made a nice combination, albeit both were heading into trees. In fact I had to relocate, realign the mount and start over to get this image.

By 30 July Neowise was barley naked eye and even in binoculars the tail was very faint and indistinct.

This is a stack of 9x30s images captured unguided in a still fairly bright NW sky, with the lens manually focused, using just my Mk 1 eyeballs, hence it being slightly out of focus.
