Description

Cederblad 51 is part of the larger HII region Sh2-264 aka "Orion's Head", the Lambda Orionis Ring.

The field of view includes the dark molecular clouds, LDN1584, B30, B31, B32 and LDN1581.

Representing just a few hours time during a single night, this dim region deserves another visit for a cleaner dataset and result.

Synthetic star spikes added (Affinity Photo with plugin Star Spikes Pro 4 by ProDigital Software).
RGB flats were no good: wrong camera gain. Created a synthetic flat and used PixelMath to correct the RGB stars-only image later combined with the NB data (whose flats were good).

Title: Cederblad 51 HO-LRGB

Description: Added new Feb '24 L channel to the original Dec '22 HaRGB stacks. I was weathered out at that time but got a lucky evening to finally complete this image.

New uploads are in (rev C) starless; (rev E) starry; and again (rev D) but with diffraction spikes added in post processing.
