Description

vdB146 is a reflection nebula with young stars and also Herbig-Haro objects inside associated with newborn stars. NGC 7142 is an open cluster around 6200 lys from us. It is one of the oldest known open clusters (about 4.5 billion years !).

I came back to this region with my own equipment after a frustrating attempt some years ago where I imaged the region with a telescope from Roboscopes (the image is still in my gallery). More integration time and processing experience and more sophisticated tools helped to get out more of it this time, I think.
The dusty regions are really faint, it could have stand much longer exposure times. In particular, more integration time for the R channel would have been useful. The Ha region is also quite faint. There is a turquoise spot below the vdB145 which seems to be a white darfw candidate:

Also some tiny galaxies in the background. Some of them are more than 400 millions ly away.
