Description

I find that tidal disruption in galaxies or interacting galaxies are one of the best subjects for dramatic shots in deep sky astrophotography, as they give this sesnse of dynamism that quite often, because of our poor resolution/spectrum, we cannot retrieve from more conventional galaxies. NGC4438 is one of such and to me it kind of resemble that of a cosmic manta-ray, floating in the vast oceans of space.

As for most shots in Coma/Virgo this was beset by the usual amount of gremlins (oftenmost poor field flattening) but in the end, having learned my lesson the hard way, I didn't skimp on colour frames and I didn't push on non-linear stretching in post processing (I wish I could!). Here is the result.
