Description

04/22/2022
I targeted the supernova in NGC 4647 just 6 days after it was discovered.
This time I did 1000x5 second subs for it to bring out more detail.
This star exploded 63 million years ago, (the galaxy is 63 million light years away) and appears to be reaching it’s maximum brightness of about 12.5-13.0 magnitude.
It will fade away over the next few weeks and no longer be visible for imaging.
I’ll try to capture it again the next clear night we have so we can see the progress.
