Description

We both image with an Esprit 100 and ZWO ASI 2600mm camera, so when we both posted individual images of this area this summer, a quick exchange of data revealed we had 4 out of 6 panels that would be needed to create a rectangular mosaic.  After obtaining two additional panels, we ended up with this 6-panel image from data obtained between June and September 2023.  Notable features include the delicate faint blue bow shock arc just to the right of the tulip that emanates from Cygnus X-1 in the lower right corner.  The blue ring-like bubble nebula surrounding the variable Wolf-Rayet star (WR 134) is seen in the upper left border of the image.  Additional subtle features include the open cluster NGC 6871 in the center of the mosaic, and the more subtle open cluster NGC 6883 immediately below the WR-134 nebula.
