Description

I tried a dark nebula experiment. Targeting IREC 462 in Virgo, I captured 19h 45min of usable data. My hope was to find some dark nebulae to target with my Redcat 51 during Galaxy Season. I was hoping to capture something. I recently learned that IREC stands for "Infrared Exc. Cloud" (not sure what Exc. is). Probably why I couldn't pick anything up. Since our atmosphere blocks so much of Infrared, it's not that surprising that I can't see nebulosity in this image.

This is the starless stretched (after actual stretch) to just see if there's anything actually there. Nothing. IREC 462 is located in the lower left corner of the image, but there's barely anything there that's distinguishable from pattern noise.
