Description

Since the weather hasn't cooperated, I have been reprocessing some of the mountains of old data I have on various disks.

I found some data for the Sombrero Galaxy from 2020. I remember processing this before and the central glow was difficult to tame. Especially since I took five minute LRGB subs. You can see the blown out small core. Even binned 3x3 on the ASI6200mm, five minutes was more than the full-well capacity.

This time I used GHS with small stretches and reduced the highlights a lot. Then, I followed with a range mask and HDRMulti to tame the central area a bit more. I finished this in PS and used Topaz Denoise at the end. For some reason, TP is reducing the bit depth to 8-bits. I will have to look into that. Still, it came out pretty well.
