For the 3rd time, M13 has represented a worthy target, though this represents only the second image obtained using the ASI 2600mm. Aside from struggling with noise reduction in the luminance image, this was fairly straightforward processing. Interestingly, even at gain 0 and offset of 30, some of the largest stars still saturated, but HSV repair took care of that with modest settings. Though not included with this image, the previous two submissions included a single DSLR with 27 minutes of data, then two different DSLRs a year ago that included a little more than 3.5 hours of data. Pretty interesting to go back and compare these side by side as far as star color and detail. As the inertial sticking points of learning a new camera and sequence construction and the new processing steps for mono-imaging start to improve, I really don't see this taking any longer than the capture and processing that I was doing with the DSLR.

Title: undrizzled version

Description: Definitely had an easier time with stellar color and cores with the undrizzled version, and certainly better contrast with this version. Not really sure of the role of drizzle with mono imaging, but I think I like this undrizzled version better until you start pixel peeping.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
