Description

NGC 7023, the Iris Nebula captured in LSHO instead of RGB.  Data from July through October 2022 in 3nm narrowband Chroma filters resulted in more separation of colors when compared with the general blues shown in LRGB images.

The Iris Nebula is a located 1,400 lightyears away in the Cepheus constellation. This floral cloud of cosmic dust and gas is a reflection nebula, meaning it glows due to the scattering of the light from its central star.
