Description

Messier 78 (NGC 2068) is a reflection nebula in Orion that was discovered 1780. It is a bright diffuse reflection nebula in the Orion B molecular cloud complex, and is about 1,350 light-years distance. Two B-type stars, HD 38563 A and HD 38563 B, illuminate the cloud of dust in M78. imaged from Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center (Bortle 4), using half the sensor (ROI) of the ASI6200 camera with the RASA 11. OSC image, no filters. Total exposure 2 hours, 40 three minute subs at Gain 0, Offset 15.
