Description

NGC2626 has a lot going on in a relatively small patch of sky.  It is an area of reflection, emission and dark nebulae in the constellation Vela.  It is mostly illuminated by B1 star CD-40 4432 and ionized by the O8 quadruple star system HD 73882.

Also visible in the image is a small planetary nebula PK260+00.2 making this a rare case where all four types of nebulosity are visible in a single image.
