Description

Last October, I took my first ever image of the Cosmos. It was a very wide field image and was just a bunch of stars. The only thing that looked familiar was a small grouping of stars which I had seen countless times, looked a bit like a kite, but never really knew the name of them. After showing the image to a "Astrophotography for Beginners" group here on facebook they suggested I try to focus on that little grouping next time. I did and I could make out a little bit of the nebulosity around a couple of the stars but I knew from researching I would need to get longer exposures, and a lot more of them, in order to get a lot of the detail of the object.

Since I have better astro gear now and know a lot more about the hobby, I decided to try to tackle the target again and stretched all the data using a Pixinsight guide that @Nico Carver did on his YouTube channel on Processing Orion.

The Cosmos never ceases to amaze me and each time I get my lens on a new target or even one of my firsts, I'm amazed at what I can see.
