Description

I actually see two Dervishes. The centrally placed smaller one of IC 1871, and the larger one of SFO 12 in the top right which looks like a Dervish with his arms raised, above a large black funnel shaped skirt.

Not to be confused with the  nebula of the same 'common'  name in Carina  (NGC 3247) - visible only from the Southern Hemisphere,  IC1871 occupies a gas filled FOV that is just a very small section of the much larger Heart Nebula. This image took up my entire field of view on my 14¨Dobson.  Captured using  a dual band filter, in only 20 minutes,  using just 300 4 second subs.  Transparency was good,  and seeing was average to good. With very little cropping and  some playing around in Startools, I was able to come up with this image.  After the Wipe module, mainly Filter to increase H-alpha and Superstructure, some noise reduction and further enhancement of blacks and noise reduction in LRC.
