Description

What is the most valuable astro tool? Yes, a hair dryer. When your hygrometer says 'Hi' to you then you need one (or a decent dew tape). I didn't catch seeing at its best but saddled the Samyang 135mm with an Uranus-C onto the mount, the perfect team to embrace both IC 405 and IC 410 in Auriga with a pleasing amount of space around. Unfortunately, quad or dual band filter won't work with a short focal length generating a nimbus around stars (in addition to a fogged lens), so I consoled myself with an UV/IR-Cut filter which was fine.

The final image is with reduced stars, Rev B is as-is.

The vista of Orion was taken in parallel on an SA-Pro mount, obviously outsmarted by a fogged lens. It was a test with a new used lens, a Nikon 35mm DX f1.8 wide open catching a lot of comets at the periphery. Next time, the lens will be stopped down to f2.8 which may help make round comets.
