Description

If you thought it got little dark and cool yesterday morning, it wasn't your eyes playing tricks on you - you just observed a partial solar eclipse. That is when the Moon moves between the Sun and the Earth for a brief period, forming a shadow which partially blocks the Sun light.

The Ningaloo/Exmouth region was fortunate to observe 'totality' where the Moon completely blocked the entire Sun for about 1 minute.

In Perth, we reached a maximum of 70% at 11:20am. The whole process took about 3 hours.

This GIF file is made up of 75 frames captured over the course of the event at 2 minute intervals. Each frame is is the stacked average of 100 individual frames taken at 20fps SER file in SharpCap.
Each SER file was then aligned and stacked into individual TIF files in AutoStackert3!. Sharpening and contrast applied (as a batch) using ImPPG. Colour grading applied in PI. Final stitching of the video file done in VirtualDub.
