Description

First light with my new AT60EDP scope. It was just a day after full moon but I wanted to see how this scope would perform, so I figured a cluster would be a good candidate. The field was indeed quite flat, although there's a bit of tilt that is probably in the camera. An application of BXT cleaned it up quite a bit.

There is an odd diffraction pattern on all the bright stars, consistent across the entire field. Pinched optics, perhaps? It was quite cold that night, so the lens cell screws may need to be adjusted.

Even though the moon was so bright, it did pick up quite a bit of dust in the background so I tried to keep just a hint in the final image. It probably detracts with forcing the background a bit brighter. This might warrant re-shooting this field with a darker moon in the sky.

I haven't shot very many targets where the main subject is the starfield itself, so C&C is welcome and appreciated! Not sure how to process a star cluster to really do it justice.
