Description

In keeping with our theme of less popular objects in the vicinity of well known DSOs, we did an LRGB set on NGC 7640 in Andromeda.  This galaxy was first catalogued by William Herschel himself in 1786 but he probably never saw it like this without the benefit of a 14 inch Corrected Dall-Kirkham telescope and a cooled CCD camera, and some very sophisticated deconvolution, stretching and sharpening techniques that I barely understand but can marginally use courtesy of the help from Linda Thomas-Fowler and Chris Kagy.  There is a tiny edge on galaxy just to the left of the upper part of the main galaxy.
