Description

NGC 7822 is an emission nebula (a nebula formed of ionized gases that emit light of various wavelengths), its located in the constellation of Cepheus and is about 3,000 lightyears away from us.This is a chaotic region in space where young stars are being born, their powerful radiation ionising the surrounding gas and causing it to glow. High energy stellar winds from these stars is also carving out the dusty streams and pillars seen throughout the nebula. We can also see dark, dusty regions in the image where new stars are likely being born.
