Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a Seyfert spiral ring galaxy located 300 million light years away in the constellation of Lacerta at a declination of +36 degrees.  It is a magnitude 14 galaxy which spans 1.4 arc-minutes in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a Milky Way size diameter of 120,000 light years.

This galaxy has a fascinating structure.  It has a bright yellow core, a barlens which spans across an inner lens, and a nicely formed closed outer ring.  A pair of ansae are seen at each end of the barlens.  The disk appears to be about 35 degrees from edge-on.
