Description

NGC 7331 is not one of the most photogenic galaxies among the visible galaxies located around 40 million light years away from us. Once found it was earlier thought to be the same size and structure as our own Milky Way galaxy however It is now known that it's missing barred spiral which our own galaxy has. It has been a happening place as multiple supernova events have happened in this galaxy in the near past. The number of other scattered galaxies visible in the image are not part of its immediate neighborhood as they are around 300 to 350 million light years away.
