Description

In the southern outskirts of the Small  Magellanic Cloud you’ll find NGC 465, an open cluster in constellation Tucana, 150,000 lightyears away.  For some reason that I haven’t figured out this is, surprisingly, rarely imaged. An open cluster is a loosely bound group of stars, but this is clearly more than that.  Here a beautiful emission nebula encapsulates the cluster in a hydrogen and oxygen rich area.
