Description

The photo was taken on a very cold (-17°C) January night under the clear Bortle 4 sky, specifically at the Astronomical Point located in Sopotnia Wielka.

For me, the objects in this astrophotograph create a fascinating landscape of the night sky, full of the mysteries and beauty of the cosmos. In the image, we can see various astronomical objects, each with its unique features and significance.

The Horsehead Nebula IC434 is most famous for its distinctive shape resembling the head of a horse, which is the result of the interaction of the emission nebula IC 434 with the intense ultraviolet radiation from the star Alnitak, one of the stars in Orion's Belt. This radiation causes the dust within the Horsehead Nebula to fluoresce, creating spectacular views against the backdrop of the dark sky.Flame Nebula (NGC 2024): This is a bright emission nebula located in the constellation of Orion, appearing as a bright area against the dark backdrop of cosmic dust clouds.

NGC 2023: This is a reflection nebula. IC 431, IC 432, IC 435: These are catalog numbers for various astronomical objects, such as reflection, emission, or dark nebulae, located near the star Alnitak in the constellation of Orion. 48 Ori and 50 Ori: These are stars in the constellation of Orion. They may be part of a binary or triple star system.

Alnitak (ζ Ori) and σ Ori: These are two notable stars in the constellation of Orion. Alnitak is part of Orion's Belt and is one of the brightest stars in the constellation, while σ Ori is a variable star.
