Description

NGC 3576 is a bright emission nebula in the constellation Carina. It is located about 9000 light years away in the Sagittarius arm of the Milky Way galaxy. The nebula itself is pretty large, about 100 light years across and gets its popular name due to its distinctive resemblance to the Statue of Liberty. NGC 3603 (to the left) is also an emission nebula containing a very compact open cluster.
