Description

This crater with very clear contours with an enclosure and a central peak is located between the Sea of Rains (Mare Imbrium) to the north and Sinus Aestuum to the south. North of Erastosthenes you can notice the presence of the remains of a crater (26 km) covered with lava, Wallace.

Montes Apenninus is the most spectacular mountain range on the lunar surface. The peaks reach in places 5000 m and the whole is 600 km long.
