Description

Another break in the clouds gave me time to capture some imagery of the Heart Nebula, IC1805. This is a tight shot because I wanted to use my AR152 reduced to f/4.3 and get as much detail as possible.

Unfortunately the Moon was nearly full, so I limited the shooting to Ha for that night. The result of that and the lengthening nights here is 8 hours and 20 minutes of integration. Hopefully I can return to this target soon and gather a similar amount of Oiii signal. I'll add Sii if I get the time, but I currently have in mind another HOO-like exposure (with the synthetic green channel based upon function of Ha and Oiii).

In the meantime, there is this. Lots of nebulae with abundant Ha signal look especially beautiful to me once the stars are removed. The missing "noise" of the stars allows my eyes to focus more on the wispy clouds of gas and dust.
