Description

Arp 273
UGC 1810
UGC 1813
Rose Galaxy

Here are 2 interacting galaxies creating a unique shape resembling a rose. They reside about 300 million light years away in the Andromeda Constellation. It is thought that the smaller lower galaxy has passed through the larger upper one.

Notes:  The aperture of the 9.25 SCT is great for bringing in these small wonders. I was only able to use about half of the subs that I collected due to unexpected clouds and guiding errors and was going to gather more data on this target, but after processing this test image, I was pleased enough with the result to publish. I'm still learning the new scope and OSC processing but enjoying the simplicity of OSC photography.

CS, Eddie
