Description

The M1 Crab Nebula, a remnant of the great supernova explosion of 1054 AD, is still expanding. Over the past 13 years, 1.34% of the time has passed since this event, and its remnants have scattered 1.34% further, which is already available with the resolution of amateur photography. Also, some of the closest stars managed to move noticeably. The bright star to the left visible on 2009 image and absent on 2023' is an asteroid Fortuna (19), 10.8m

I am glad to share my "big" project, the first stage of which has completed after 13 years.

The same telescope, different cameras, conditions, decades, hemispheres.
TAL250K telescope + Reducer Corrector 0.7 Mk2

Frame 1: 24 October 2009:
Canon 350D(h-mod) DSLR, 7 x 8 minutes at ISO800 in rural village (Rostov-on-Don region, Russia), Bortle 4-5 sky)

Frame 2: Sum of Oct 2022 - Feb 2023:
Camera ASI2600MM LRGB, ZWO filters. 250 x 2 minutes in a very uncomfortable view position, half an hour per night through the trees from a balcony. Brisbane, Australia.

The bright star to the left visible on 2009 image and absent on 2023' is an asteroid Fortuna (19), 10.8m.
UPDATE: Fast moving star at 2 o'clock is TYC 1309-1640-1, star with high proper motion, 0.245"/year so it flew ~3.2" over that 13 years. It is relatively close to the Sun, about 189 light years away. There are also several small stars with noticeable motion across the field, perhaps mostly Red Dwarfs located close to us, but having weak absolute brightness.
