Description

This object is a disturbed face-on spiral galaxy located 90 million light years away in the constellation of Ursa Major at a declination of +59 degrees.  It is a magnitude 14 galaxy.

The inner brighter disk spans 2.5 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of 70,000 light years.  The faint extended star stream arm segments extend out much further than that for an overall diameter of about 180,000 light years.

The disturbed nature of this disk suggests the possible past accretion of a dwarf galaxy or two.
