Description

I'd hoped to gather more data, but there was a slight haze, and seeing deteriorating (after a week of particularly good weather for UK). In the end I only managed 50 mins as a satellite ruined one frame. When I say 'ruined', I am amazed by these little pieces of technology buzzing about in earth orbit, but frustrated by the growing numbers! I won't deny the Starlink chains make a fascinating sight...the first few times!

At 20 million light years distant and some 80,000 light years across, NGC 2903 is an interesting barred spiral, which looks spectacular in long exposures. I struggled to bring out the wispy outer arms (so obvious in M81), but was pleased to capture some detail in the core, where large H emission areas are churning out new stars; these show up as brighter areas in my unfiltered image.
