Description

One of the perennial favorites, the sparkly Double Cluster in the constellation Perseus also known as "h and chi Persei" or NGC 869 (right) and NGC 884 (left). It is a pair of young (only ~14 million year-old) open star clusters ~7,500 light years away. The majority of stars forming the Double Cluster are hot bluish giant or super-giant stars tens and hundreds of times more luminous than our Sun.

This LRGB image was taken in late November with my mobile setup, the 250mm f/4 Lacerta PhotoNewton astrograph and ZWO ASI294MM Pro camera riding on the Orion HDX-110 EQ-G mount.
