Description

When I first started imaging this nebula (aka "The Tadpoles"), I didn't actually know what the name of it was since I had the settings mis-adjusted in my planetarium app. So for the longest time, I just referred to this as the "Thing below the Flaming Star." As such, my imagination wandered a bit, and I could swear this looks more like a dog's face. The darker dusty regions making up the nose and eyes, with some nice hydrogen alpha that look like big floppy ears.

This color palette maps Ha and SII to red, while OIII is 50% blue and 50% green. Hence a little closer to reality. This is the first time I've tried adding in RGB stars, and am still trying to get a hang of it, so any suggestions are appreciated!

In the revision, I've included my edit when I only had about two night's worth of narrowband data (sans drizzle). Interestingly, the stars don't look that much different, which makes me think either a) this narrowband palette is close to reality or b) I somehow messed up adding the RGB stars. Likely the latter, so I may have yet another revision!
