Hello Astros,

An astro picture from Namibia, which I photographed in the constellation
"Ara" & " angular measure "

- NGC 6188 -
...and other objects

Occasionally it is said that two dragons are fighting in the sky.
Therefore times to better view.
But the image actually contains more objects.

Main object is of course NGC 6188.
In the upper right corner the small nebula.
Actually it looks like a nebula, which is formed by
- NGC 6164
- NGC 6165
together. But here it is already in the constellation "angular measure".

In the center of the image, the bright star slightly left, is the open star cluster NGC 6193.
Below right, also an open star cluster, NGC 6167 which is already in the star image "angular measure".

Ein Astrobild aus Namibia, welches ich im Sternenbild „Ara“ & „Winkelmaß“
fotografiert habe.

- NGC 6188 -
...und weitere Objekte

Gelegentlich wird dazu gesagt, dass zwei Drachen am Himmel kämpfen.
Daher mal zu besser Ansicht.
Das Bild enthält aber eigentlich weitere Objekte.

Hauptobjekt ist natürlich NGC 6188.
Rechts oben der kleine Nebel.
Eigentlich sieht er aus wie ein Nebel, welcher sich aber aus
- NGC 6164
- NGC 6165
zusammensetzen.

Er steht aber hier schon im Sternenbild „Winkelmaß“
- Mittig vom Bild, der helle Stern leicht links, ist der offene Sternhaufen NGC 6193.
- Unten rechts, ebenso ein offener Sternhaufen, NGC 6167 welcher sich aber schon im Sternenbild „Winkelmaß“ befindet.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
