Description

Taken late at night on September 6th, 2021, here are the four primary nebulae of the Milky Way's galactic core. I had planned to shoot this with 60 second exposures, but I failed to properly set up my tracking mount and was getting star trailing at 15 seconds. Time was expiring on my ability to get this particular field of view as that part of the Milky Way was setting over the horizon and was beginning to get washed out by light pollution. In order to salvage my night, I decided to shoot this with 8 second exposures, 40 lights and 20 darks, at a ridiculous 12,800 ISO. My astro-modified Canon EOS RP is excellent at the highest ISO range, so the end result after stacking looked decent. I bumped up the color contrast with the nebulae a bit, and had to counter a lot of green noise pollution. Hoping to get another crack at this target over the weekend when I can properly set up my tracker and get longer exposures at a lower ISO.
