Description

While Leo is still in a decent position in the night sky I decided to image the  galaxies around M105 including the elliptical NGC 3384 and the spiral NGC 3389.

M105 (NGC 3379) is an elliptical galaxy in the constellation Leo. It is about 36.6 million light years from Earth. It is the largest elliptical galaxy in the Messier catalog outside of the Virgo cluster. It is estimated to have a mass of 100 billion solar masses.  M105 is a member of the M96 group (Leo 1 Group) with M95 and M96.

M105 is known to have a supermassive black whole at its core.
