Description

About 275K light-years away from our solar system, and 300K light years away from the Milky Way center,  NGC 2419 is likely the furthest globular cluster associated with the Milky Way.    At it's current distance and inclination, it has been suggested that it will take 3 billion years to orbit the Milky Way.   Given how far away it is, it still gives a pretty nice showing.

I did a quick trig calc, and this globular is most likely a significant fraction larger than Omega Centauri.   On the order of 250 light years diameter, vs Omega Centauri's 180 light year diameter.   This is one big globular!
