Description

Hi all, again a cooperation with Serge Brunier who had made a nice red layer image on M42 / 43 using the 1m scope of C2PU at the end of the year. He did not had time for the other layers. The signal was huge and the picture fine. So they (with DAvid Vernet) accepted that I try a composition with my RGB color taken with the T350 in good conditions.

The difference in diameter is not a serious issue in this case, because the object is shiny and there is no need to color small galaxies at Magnitude 24. Otherwise the 350 could not obviously help.

As the 350 with my old ASI 1600 MCC samples about the same as the T1000 with the QHY 600, I was able to have fun.

So it's a grub à la Jeff mixture :
  • For Luminance: 60x1mn + 35x10s at the T1000 of the C2PU and QHY 600M camera. Red Filter


  • For color: 2 hours in series of 5, 60 and 90 seconds with my backyard Newton 350 at f/3.6 and ASI 1600 MCC camera. I extracted the RGB layers and mixed the L obtained above at 50% with the R layer to balance with the L.

We like the result very much.

Well, not everyone will like it. This nebula is the most fruitful object I know in discussions about colors, contrasts, overprocessing, and " it's not natural, but of course it is, and if I tell you not" ....etc. ..

I had a lot of fun on this coopération.
