Description

After many months of cloudy skies, I was able to train my C 9.25 onto this grouping of varied galaxies, primarily focused on "The Eyes", NGC 4438 and NGC 4435.  The former is approximately 47 mly distant, and the latter is at about 66.9 mly, making them separate and independent from one another (non-interacting).  This link from Wikipedia has a fascinating image of the two galaxies:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eyes_Galaxies#/media/File:NGC4438-NGC4435-eso1131a.jpg   This whole region is rich in galaxies and offers some stunning examples of various galaxy-types.  M86 is an elliptical galaxy with an estimated 400 billion stars, and is about 52 mly from Earth.
