Description

NGC 1333 is a reflection nebula in the constellation of Perseus 1000 light years away, being one of the closest regions of star formation.

The newly formed stars in NGC 1333 are no more than a million years old. Much of the light from these stars is obscured by the dark cloud of dust from which they formed. With the use of NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope, the infrared light from these objects has been detected. This allows you to peer through the dust to gain a more detailed understanding about how stars begin their lives.
