Description

Astrophotography is an exercise of persistence, and it has been my experience, that one must demonstrate a preposterous amount of patience and cool headedness. In the skies of Kuwait, where dust and star are distant cousins, we make our peace with nature. Humble though our seeing conditions may be, I believe that our brown little patch on earth has produced some astrophotographers that rival those dealing with less atmosphere and light-pollution. So here is my submission, representing my kin shooting somewhere close to the equator, a mere 106m above sea level. This Image was a huge learning curve for me. Along with the multiple trips to the desert I had to take for my acquisition, the processing just didn't seem to satisfy me no matter how hard I tried. In the end, I decided to retake all my color data and shoot some Hydrogen alpha, and so off to the desert I went again. The final Image was taken in three sessions:
