Description

The M104 galaxy, also known as the Sombrero galaxy, is a spiral galaxy located 28 million light-years away from Earth in the constellation Virgo. It is notable for its distinct appearance, with a central bulge of older stars surrounded by a prominent dust lane and a large, extended disk of younger stars, giving it a shape reminiscent of a sombrero hat. The galaxy is also home to a supermassive black hole at its center, with a mass equivalent to billions of suns, and it is surrounded by a population of globular clusters, which are collections of stars bound together by gravity. This photography was taken from the southern hemisphere with the focus of trying to bring out the inner details of the galaxy
