Description

Description (from Wikipedia)Sh2 -188 is a planetary nebula visible in the constellation Cassiopeia . Its position can be easily retrieved by following the concatenation of stars δ Cassiopeiae , χ Cassiopeiae and HD 9352; however, it is a very tenuous and weak object. The most suitable period for its observation in the evening sky falls between the months of August and January and it is greatly facilitated for observers located in the regions of the terrestrial boreal hemisphere , where it occurs circumpolar up to the warm temperate regions.

Although included in the Sharpless Catalogue , it is actually a planetary nebula , located at a distance of 218  parsecs (711 light-years ) from the Solar System . It appears as a well-marked sheath on the eastern side and much dispersed on the western side, where it appears to have already dissolved; in appearance it resembles the Sh2-274 nebula . Through its speed of expansion an age of about 7500 years has been determined. Although its appearance resembles a supernova remnant , this possibility has been ruled out due to the type of its emissions.

Processing
WBPP with 2xdrizzle, crop, DBE, Linear Fit, SHO combination, Background Neutralisation, Deconvolution, MaskedStretch, ArcsinthStretch, star removal, cleaning up halos with clonestamp, denoise, curves on both stars and nebula, putting it all togerher.
