Description

M81 and M82 in a close up crop. These are obviously interacting, and M82 is getting the worse of the exchange. Both are about 12 million light years distant. M81 has a diameter of about 90K light years. M82's impressive gas and warped disk are easily visible, as is a hint of IFN.

This was an experiment. The field is deceptively difficult due to all the IFN present. I didn't want to rotate my camera, and the field placement is just beyond the shorter width of my camera to fit both galaxies. So, what's the plan? Go for IFN, or M82's H II, or M81's structure? This result is a combination of these. I'll likely want to revisit this field when I have a better plan.
