Description

A detail of Lower's Nebula — while I captured the nebula in its entirety, I liked best this colorful structured portion.

    • G: ((OIII*Ha)^~(OIII*Ha))*Ha + ~((OIII*Ha)^~(OIII*Ha))*OIII + ~(OIII^~OIII)*Ha * 0.25
    • B: OIII

  2. SCNR
  3. Brighten SII a bit and apply SII as mask (this protects the OIII/blue data)
  4. LRGBCombination to add SII as luminance channel (keeping SII mask)
  5. Unsharp Mask (keeping SII mask)
  6. Curves Transformation
  7. Export as TIFF
  8. Topaz DeNoise
  9. Slight color correction in Photoshop
  10. Return to PixInsight
  11. PixelMath to screen RGB stars: ~(~stars * ~$T)
  12. Crop to detail
